In the month of May 2008 the Company GOMILA ANTONIO, SA took over the operation and management MUNICIPAL WATER SERVICE AND SANITATION OF TERM MUNICIPAL DE ES MERCADAL.
The Service initially supplied the towns of Mercadal, Fornells, Ses Salines, Playas de Fornells, Sa Roca and all farms, and houses scattered Hortales the western half of the Municipal District. It was in July of 2009 and December of that year when a provisional basis, including the scope of the developments in the Service Addai and Coves Noves was extended respectively.
The tasks that correspond to the service are all related in both supply and sanitation and rainwater with:
- Installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and replacement of facilities and pipelines
- Water quality, both chemical analysis and treatment and legal information against Health and Consumer
- Rodent control and decontamination of sewerage
- Account Management: meter reading and billing, maintenance and renewal thereof, customer service, new connections, high, low ...
- Service 24h guard against emergency alerts subscribers or failure
- Management with other agencies regarding legalization and required documentation
The Municipal Water Es Mercadal, currently has two catchments distinct groundwater:
SA ROCA: has three collection wells with a total capacity of 190 m3/hr extraction snapshot, representing 4,500 m3 per day, sufficient capacity to meet the demands of current consumption.
Through a network of water transport about 45Km long and starting from a header tank located in the same catchment area of Sa Roca, is supplied to the deposits of the towns of Es Mercadal, Fornells Playas de Fornells, the which supply water to these populations. Sa Roca tank also supplies directly without intermediate storage areas to Ses Salines, Sa Roca and all farms, and houses scattered Hortales the western half of the Municipal District.
The water distribution network in urban areas has a total length of about 65Km and currently serves a total of 3,750 subscribers.
BINIFABINI: has two collection wells with a total capacity of 70 m3/hr instantaneous extraction, which is 1,680 m3 per day, sufficient capacity to meet the demands of today's consumer.
These wells fed by a pipeline of 3,500 m length, a header tank capacity of 2400 m3 located in the high levels of urbanization in Coves Noves, from which supply is given to the developments of Coves Noves and Addai connected this with a pipeline length of 1,500 m.
Today, this area caters to supply a total of 500 subscribers.
